How to Begin

The fact that you are perusing this website is a huge first step toward healing and increasing your overall wellbeing. Maybe you like what you have read so far and are wondering how to begin working with me. Below are the steps clearly outlined so that you can feel confident and solid as you begin your therapeutic journey.

  • Please reach out to me either through the contact form on this page, by e-mail, or by phone or text to the phone number listed. I will respond within 48 business hours.

I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation so that we can get a sense of each other and decide if we may be a good fit for working together. In the consultation, I will ask you what you are seeking therapy for, what your therapeutic goals are, and a little about your psychiatric health history.

If after the consultation you decide to move forward, I will provide my current availability. If we are able to find a day and time that works, I will send you a link to my client portal that contains the intake paperwork. Intake paperwork includes a notice about HIPAA privacy practices, therapy informed consent (basically what therapy is and how therapists hold confidentiality), and an estimate of good faith for what you will pay for therapy services over the course of a year, as well as my fees and cancellation policy.

  • Our first session and first couple of sessions encompass the assessment phase. During the assessment phase, I will gather information and begin the process of learning about your unique story in order to create the best clinical approach for you.

Sessions are held at my brick and mortar office in Los Gatos, virtually, or in the home or in the community (such as at a park or on a hike).

  • Once the assessment phase is complete, usually within a few weeks, we enter the nitty gritty stage of treatment. This is where clients often feel uncomfortable before they feel relief from their symptoms. Looking at your past, your relationships, your patterns of behavior, the narratives keeping you stuck, etc. can be really hard stuff! My job is to support you as you unpack and process all that needs to be unpacked and processed.

My goal is for my clients to get better and to not need me anymore. My hope is that our work together will result in skills learned and new insights gained to increase your quality of life in a way you can comfortably and confidently sustain on your own.

  • I am not currently with any insurance panels, and as such I do not accept insurance at this time. I provide monthly superbills for out-of-network benefits reimbursement.

    Virtual 60-minute sessions are $180.

In-person 60-minute sessions at your home or in the community are $200.

  • Life happens! I do not charge for late cancellations. However, if cancelling becomes frequent, I will open up a transparent discussion that may result in the implementation of late cancellation fees.

  • I am not available for in-the-moment support between sessions. If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency between sessions, please utilize one of the resource numbers below.
